Step 2: Advance Consultation
An advance consultation with a program officer is the first step in the official application process. You may schedule an appointment at the Trust office in Winston-Salem or talk with a program officer during one of the satellite offices held around the state each year.
-
Schedule an advance consultation
- For Health Care Division projects (outside Forsyth County), contact John Fulk, Program Associate, for the Health Care Division, at 866-551-0690.
- For projects inside Forsyth County (Poor and Needy Division projects), contact Joe Crocker, Director of the Poor and Needy Division, at 336-397-5503.
-
Preparing for the advance consultation
- Be sure to have read the Guidelines for the division to which you are applying. (Health Care Division Guidelines or Poor and Needy Division Guidelines.)
- Develop a one-page summary and preliminary budget for your project.
- If you need directions to our office, click here.
-
The advance consultation meeting
- Program officers give feedback as part of the advance consultation. This is your opportunity to follow-up on recommendations to strengthen your application.
- If the follow-up needed is extensive or the project is early in its development, the program officer may request that you have another advanced consultation prior to submitting your application.
