Napoleon Wallace is deputy secretary for rural economic development and workforce solutions at the North Carolina Department of Commerce, where he leads a team of specialists helping communities make preparations and infrastructure investments to attract business development and economic growth. Previously, Mr. Wallace worked as the social investment officer at the Kresge Foundation, focusing on making program-related investments in the health and human services sectors. He has more than 15 years of experience in finance and community economic development, including roles at Self-Help Credit Union, Wachovia Capital Markets, and as a community banker with M&F Bancorp’s Commercial Credit group.
