Food System Racial Equity Assessment Tool: A Facilitation Guide

Developed by Lexa Dundore with the University of Wisconsin-Extension, the Food System Racial Equity Assessment Tool Facilitation Guide provides a practical step-by-step guide for group discussion on building a food system centering racial equity, social justice, and sustainability. The tool specifically operationalizes people, place, processes, and power to analyze the food system and provides a guide to complete the analysis. As a community-based evaluation, the tool requires diverse representatives in the discussion to analyze the systems, identify gaps and issues that need to be addressed, and move forward to inclusive programming and policy improvement.

By using this tool, food system organizations can assess and improve their racial equity practices and identify areas for improvement.
