We focus on outcomes, rather than issues to achieve long-term and sustainable change.

We support promising programs, systems change work, and innovative ideas that help residents and communities thrive, increase equitable access to health care, and achieve equitable health outcomes.

Our Local Impact and Health Improvement program areas are structured around strategic goals. We invest at the program, community, town, county, and state level to foster long-term change. Our most intensive efforts are focused on two long-term, place-based special initiatives—Healthy Places NC and Great Expectations—and three key bodies of work—Equitable Access to Care, Equitable Health Outcomes, and Inclusive Economy.
