What We Do
Investing in Change
We work to achieve long term, sustainable change.
We invest our grantmaking dollars to support systems change efforts. We recognize the power that already exists in communities and support their efforts to improve health, education, and economic outcomes.
Our Local Impact and Health Improvement program areas are structured around strategic goals. We invest at the program, community, town, county, and state level to foster long-term change. Our efforts are focused on three key bodies of work—Equitable Access to Care, Equitable Health Outcomes, and Inclusive Economy.
Our two special initiatives—Great Expectations and Healthy Places, NC —have sunset their ten-year cycles. We have evolved them into local Forsyth County and regional NC work that carries these efforts forward. These initiatives helped us focus on fixing broken systems, learn from the people most impacted, and let communities lead the way to a more equitable future.
Health Improvement in North Carolina
We invest in solutions that improve health for residents of North Carolina. We support equitable access to care, work to build equitable health systems, and invest in rural health solutions.
Healthy Places NC
We continue to invest in the power and capacity of rural residents to address the health issues impacting their communities and to advocate for systems change at the local, regional, and state level.
Local Impact in Forsyth County
We’re committed to improving the quality of life in Forsyth County—our own backyard. We work for broadly shared prosperity, health, and educational opportunities for every resident.
Great Expectations
We continue to work with the community to overcome inequities and support the well-being of young children and families in Forsyth County.
