Celebrating Progress With Our Community Impact Summits

The Trust recently hosted Community Impact Summits in Winston-Salem and Rocky Mount, celebrating the achievements of Local Impact and Health Improvement grantees and partners who participated in a three-year Community Data and Learning Cohort. These events highlighted the Trust’s strong commitment to data and evaluation as essential tools for advancing grantees’ work to improve the health and quality of life of residents in our state.

Led by Dr. Kristen Naney, director of learning and impact at the Trust, the Community Data and Learning Cohort members received training and individualized technical assistance to build their capacity in data storytelling and other related skills aimed to help grassroots leaders grow support for issues connected to their work. At the Summits, Cohort members shared mock pitch presentations, received feedback from nonprofit leaders, and showcased the meaningful outcomes of their work to peers and funders.

This capacity building is vital to the Trust’s mission of supporting thriving communities through informed, data-driven action. We congratulate all our partners for their dedication and the progress made toward healthier, more equitable communities.

We also extend heartfelt thanks to the partners that co-developed this program. We thank the North Carolina Institute for Public Health (NCIPH), Kaleidoscope Pathways, LLC, and the Cape Fear Collective who all provided TA support and facilitated the learning sessions.
