Halifax-Warren Smart Start Partnership for Children, Inc.

Programmatic funds to continue a Trust-supported nutrition and physical activity program delivered through childcare centers in Halifax County. The Nutrition and Physical Activity Self-Assessment for Childcare project, or NAP SACC, helps childcare centers implement and evaluate wellness programming. By combining nutrition and physical activity programming with enhanced outdoor learning opportunities, this proposal seeks to impact a key goal of the Halifax community to reduce childhood obesity by five percent in five years. Funds will support salaries, consulting and design support from the Natural Learning Initiative at North Carolina State University, and construction fees for the outdoor spaces.
