Programmatic funds to continue support for community capacity-building initiatives primarily for financially-disadvantaged marginalized communities. Funds will provide support for the small grants administrator, support to increase capital support for its small grants fund (that supports neighbors with safety projects and beautification), and support to help with the hiring of a full-time TimeBanking coordinator. TimeBanking is an asset-based community development tool that individuals and organizations use to exchange services and resource sharing across community members. It is used to operationalize NBN’s process for asset mapping; asset mapping is the method for discovering the gifts, skills, and talents that many neighborhood residents already possess to offer others.
