Programmatic support to fund the implementation of a pilot project call the "Diversion Tool". The Salvation Army has been selected by the local Continuum of Care to pilot implementation of the Diversion Tool locally. Diversion is a strategy that prevents homelessness for individuals seeking shelter by helping them identify immediate alternative housing arrangements. The goal is to reduce the number of families becoming homeless, decrease demand for shelter beds, cut the size of program waiting lists, and empower individuals maintain control of their lives.
