North Carolina Data Portal
The North Carolina Data Portal provides users with access to data, maps, and tools required to conduct community health assessments and other public health activities. North Carolina’s NC Data Portal is poised to serve as the primary source of secondary health data for most local health departments. Over 120 indicators are available in the NC Data Portal, including: Demographics, Economic Stability, Education, Employment, Health Behaviors, Health Outcomes, Healthcare/Clinical Care, Neighborhood and Built Environment, Physical Environment, and Social Support. In addition to state and county level data, local health departments/health districts, Medicaid regions, perinatal care regions, AHEC regions, and other specialty configurations can be customized using the selection of geographical entities. These options include state and county level data as well as local health department regions.
As a result of this portal, public health leaders will be able to make better decisions, make better investment decisions, and collaborate better so that North Carolina will be a stronger and healthier state. The filters available in this dashboard can be customized to meet the needs of the CHA. Additionally, users have the option of selecting indicators and viewing/downloading data in both comprehensive and quick facts formats.
