North Carolina Respiratory Virus Summary Dashboard
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services’ (NCDHHS) Respiratory Virus Summary Dashboard grew out of the COVID-19 Dashboards developed during the pandemic. The dashboard includes timely information on emergency department visits for respiratory viruses (COVID-19, influenza, and RSV), COVID-19 wastewater monitoring and hospitalizations, and archival information on COVID-19 cases, deaths and vaccinations. The archives include data up to May 10, 2023.
Archival data includes case, death, and vaccination data disaggregated by race and ethnicity, age, and sex. Additionally, outbreak data are stratified by congregate living settings and wastewater monitoring data and trends are stratified by wastewater utility locations to provide more context. These data can be used to monitor respiratory illness in NC regions and identify disparities in COVID infection, deaths, and vaccinations.
The data provides the public with transparency and a better understanding of the impacts of COVID-19 on North Carolinians. The data dashboards also allow public health professionals to visually identify populations at risk of COVID-19 and health disparities among certain racial groups.
