Kids Count Data Center
The Kids Count Data Center provides data on various indicators related to child well-being, such as education (suspensions from school, high school graduation rate, and percentage of students enrolled in free and reduced lunch), safety and risky behaviors (child abuse and neglect, school-based offenses, juvenile justice), family structure and income, poverty, housing, and community environment. The data is at the city, county, school district, and state levels. Users can explore and analyze the data through interactive maps, charts, and downloadable documents. This data source is updated annually, and when applicable, the data are stratified by race and ethnicity, age, and family nativity.
This data tool provides a better understanding of the factors contributing to the well-being of children in the United States. The report may help stakeholders allocate resources more effectively and develop effective programs and interventions to improve child nutrition, academic outcomes, well-being, and economic opportunities among economically disadvantaged children.
