We know that during this time of division and strife, many people are feeling anxious and uncertain. We know that unrest at the local, national, and global levels make it seem impossible to build the broad-based partnerships necessary to create thriving communities.
We also want you to know that despite these challenges we are undeterred. The context in which we work is always changing. But the work endures. The Trust remains committed to ensuring that all North Carolinians have equitable opportunities to live healthy lives. The Trust remains committed to ensuring that all children are given a strong start in life and school. And the Trust remains committed to closing disparities so that health, education, and economic outcomes aren’t entirely predictable by race and place.
We know that many people across our state in every city and hamlet support these same goals. That is why we believe that partnership is always possible.
This is hard work, and it’s also heart work. So, we hope in the coming weeks you are able to find peace and fellowship with friends, family, and community. And if you want to talk or strategize, we are always here to listen. Please feel free to reach out.
