North Carolina’s School Report Cards
The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction NC School Report Cards (SRC) resource contains school characteristics and performance data at the state, county, district, and school levels, including high school performance grades, student performance on end-of-grade and end-of-course tests, English Learner progress indicators, SAT/AP/IB, college enrollment, advanced course enrollment, college endorsements and credentials, school safety, preschool enrollment, digital teaching and learning, class size, school attendance, chronic absenteeism, school size, educator qualifications, school improvement funding, use of funds (LEA and state level), per pupil expenditure (LEA and school level), arts education indicator, long term goals, grade 8th math exception configurations, CSI/TSI designations, alternative school reporting, and National Assessment of Education Progress (NAEP). Most of the variables are disaggregated by sex, race/ethnicity, and economic disadvantage. Furthermore, users can compare the school’s performance with another within the same geographic area.
This data tool is useful to view performance by School, District, and Sub Group, which makes easy comparisons between two racial groups/schools within the same geographic area. It helps stakeholders, such as decision-makers, to allocate resources more effectively and promote education equity among undeserved communities or rural areas.
