Professional Quality of Life Scale

The Professional Quality of Life Scale is a self-assessment for individuals working with trauma and disaster survivors to evaluate compassion satisfaction, burnout, and secondary traumatic stress in the last 30 days. Each sub-scale illustrates the meaning of the result and what support individuals should seek accordingly. ProQOL 5 is the most recent version and available in 18 languages. This tool would be appropriate as an activity for staff to promote self-reflection on their mental health and wellness. Notes from the Field: “We often use the Pro-QOL and or the DARS to assess wellness for the purposes of building insight and informing coaching, but not as outcome measures.”
