Trauma Resilient Community Mezzo-Level Assessment: Systems and Institutions

This Mezzo-level report provides broader community context on ACEs in Forsyth county by surveying child-serving organizations on staff’s own experiences of ACEs and how well child-serving organizations in Forsyth County currently align with the Trauma Resilient Communities model. The report includes 255 surveys of child-serving organization staff experiences of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs); COVID-19; and secondary traumatic stress. The report also includes a literature review to contextualize the social and economic conditions that contribute to ACEs in Forsyth County. Survey participants include staff from Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools; child care providers; home visitation programs; social service providers; and medical service providers in Forsyth county.

This tool can be used to gain insight into the broader community context, examining how child-serving organizations in Forsyth County are implementing Trauma-Informed Practices and the impact of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and secondary traumatic stress on child-serving organization staff.
