The Trust Announces Devin Singleton as Communications Associate

We are pleased to announce Devin Singleton joined the Trust in February as the Communications Associate. Devin most recently served as the director of marketing and business development for Kagan’s Home in High Point.

In this role at the Trust, Devin will work closely with the director of communications to support strategic communications, messaging, and storytelling that advances the Trust’s vision of thriving communities and residents, equitable access to care, and equitable health systems. Devin will also manage the Trust’s social media, website, and digital communications platforms to help advance Trust goals and lift up community voices and stories about the work happening on the ground.

“Devin has a background in marketing, social media, and copywriting, and he brings a creative voice and thoughtful perspective to this newly created position,” said Nora Ferrell, director of communications at the Trust. “We are so excited he is joining our organization as we grow our communications capacity to support systems change work, apply a racial equity lens, and improve health, education, and economic outcomes locally and around the state.”

At Kagan’s Home, Devin developed and implemented a social media marketing strategy that increased engagement with customers and boosted furniture sales. Prior to joining Kagan’s Home, Devin worked as a marketing assistant for Royalty Marketing where he wrote copy for clients, developed marketing materials, and assisted with social media planning.

Earlier this year, Devin was one of the local authors chosen to participate in a writing collaboration between Authoring Action, a Winston-Salem nonprofit that supports the development of local youth and the Winston-Salem Symphony. He has been a collaborating artist and mentor with Authoring Action since 2018 and joined the program in 2012 when he was a student at Atkins High School.

“I was interested in the role at the Trust because the organization is engaged in important work right here in Winston-Salem that impacts where I’m from and where I grew up,” said Devin. “I’m excited to be in this role because it gives me the opportunity to help tell stories about the great work the Trust is supporting and to use writing and storytelling to help advance community progress locally and around the state.”

A Winston-Salem native, Devin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where he also served as a Resident Advisor. He lives in Winston-Salem with his girlfriend, Megan.
