Programmatic support to enhance its capacity building program for support of nonprofits based in Forsyth County primarily serving financial disadvantaged residents.
North Carolina Justice Center
Programmatic funds to conduct public education campaign in select counties on the opportunity to expand Medicaid. Funds primarily cover salaries, travel, and ancillary expenses.
Prevent Child Abuse North Carolina, Inc.
Programmatic funds to support community-based research and education efforts that engage residents in the process to better understand and build awareness of adverse childhood experiences (ACES) and toxic stress.
Children’s Home Society of North Carolina, Inc.
Programmatic funds to improve the substitute care system and improve transition to adulthood (aging out of foster care) through education and mentoring in Forsyth County.
Freedom House Recovery Center, Inc.
Operating funds to provide peer support services for substance abuse addiction to low-income individuals in Warren, Vance, Granville, Franklin, Halifax, and Person counties.
The Salvation Army
Programmatic support to fund the implementation of a pilot project call the "Diversion Tool". The Salvation Army has been selected by the local Continuum of Care to pilot implementation of the Diversion Tool locally. Diversion is a strategy that prevents homelessness for individuals seeking shelter by helping them identify immediate alternative housing arrangements. The goal is to reduce the number of families becoming homeless, decrease demand for shelter beds, cut the size of program waiting lists, and empower individuals maintain control of their lives.
Elizabeth City State University
Programmatic funds to collect and analyze data on Medicaid reform to understand the impact of shifting to managed care on African American Medicaid Enrollees in Eastern NC.
Neighbors for Better Neighborhoods
Programmatic funds to continue support for community capacity-building initiatives primarily for financially-disadvantaged marginalized communities. Funds will provide support for the small grants administrator, support to increase capital support for its small grants fund (that supports neighbors with safety projects and beautification), and support to help with the hiring of a full-time TimeBanking coordinator. TimeBanking is an asset-based community development tool that individuals and organizations use to exchange services and resource sharing across community members. It is used to operationalize NBN’s process for asset mapping; asset mapping is the method for discovering the gifts, skills, and talents that many neighborhood residents already possess to offer others.

Operating funds for core organizational efforts of statewide umbrella group supporting 184 FQHCs/ FQHC Look-a-Likes serving low-income clients.
