Trauma Sensitive School Checklist
The checklist provides a cumulative list of indicators that reflect a school’s readiness as trauma-sensitive schools, which provides a safe net for students to thrive professionally and mentally. This checklist represents attitudes, policies, classroom, community, and family connections are all assessed on a scale of “element is not at all in place” to “element is fully in place.”
This tool could be useful in providing baseline data or evaluation tool for changes over time.
Notes from the field: “We occasionally have just a school leader complete the trauma-sensitive school checklist just to support planning and goal setting, rather than as an outcome measure.”
